BNW Reading Notes Chapter 13

Lenina is obsessed with John. She goes to visit John and try to seduce him. He declares his love for her by stating some passages from Shakespeare. When he talks about marriage she doesn’t get it because in the World State there’s no such thing as commitment. Intending to seduce John she removes all her clothes and is completely naked that makes John mad. This shows that John is not like all the other guys in the World State.

BNW Reading Notes Chapter 12

Bernard throws this sort of party for people to meet the “savage”. But this goes wrong, because John doesn’t want to come out of his room and do all the people that want to John are disappointed towards Bernard and make fun of him. This show that no one really likes Bernard. Lenina is disappointed as well. Meanwhile John has made been talking to Helmholtz lately and tells him about a passage of Romeo and Juliette. Helmholtz laughs at it because he finds it funny.

BNW Reading notes Chapter 11

In this chapter John is now know as the “Savage”. He is now discovering the Brave new world which    he is disliking it. When he goes to visit Eton he sees children watching a film where people are hitting themselves. John goes with Lenina to watch a film but he thinks it’s horrible when Lenina thinks it’s lovely. Lenina is confused if John likes her or not.

BNW Reading Notes chapter 9

In chapter 9 Bernard goes to Santa Fe to convince Mond to let John and Linda go to London because there would be a scientific interest in bringing them to the World State While Bernard is doing that John goes into Leninas room and sees her and starts to quote passages from Romeo and Juliet.
